God Name: Florence Nightengale Pantheon: Historical Apparent Age: 40 Current Alias: Renee "Ren" Night Occupation: Nurse Personality: Ren is very much a motherly type of person for the most part. She takes people under her wing and cares for them with everything that she has. While she does care a lot and has a big heart, she is also incredibly stubborn and hates giving up on things. She will do all that she can to save people even when others have given up on them. She is also a strong supporter of women;s rights both in her time and this current time. She is one to rebuff the social norms and do what she wants to do, to work to her strengths and passions. Florence is highly intelligent and unlike many women of her age was given a full and complete education which worked in her favour. Of course that isn't all there is to Florence. She is an independant woman who hates being tied down to people, believing that will hold her back which is why she has never married. She has suffered depression on and off again over the last five decades of her life from 1857 onwards to her death in 1910 which was a result of having caught Brucellosis and Spondylitis which left her bedridden on and off over the years. Now in her new life she still suffers from the occasional bout of depression but it is better controlled now than it was in her actual life. History: Florence Nightengale was born on the 12 May 1820 to William and Frances a well connected rich upper-class British Family as the second of two daughters. The family returned to England in 1821 from Italy where they were living when she was born. During her childhood and informative years she was mostly educated by her father who believed that even though she was a woman she should be fully educated unlike many of her gender at the time. In 1837, Florence believed she received several messages from god which lead her to dedicating her life to others though at the time she didn't tell her family. It wasn't until 1844 that she informed her family that she desired to become a nurse. Despite her mother and sister being furious about her decision she went through with it as it was what she wished to do. Family or not she would not let their opinions influence her decisions on what to do with her life. During this time she had many suitors as a young, attractive and well off woman. Despite courting Richard Monckton Milnes, 1st Baron Houghton for close to nine years she eventually turned down his marriage proposal as she believed it would get in her way of becoming a nurse. During the following years she had a number of other suitors and made many close friends including Sidney Herbert who would later become the secretary of war again during the Crimean War and was instrumental in getting her nursing work in Crimea. She spent many years as a key advisor to him during his political life though many suspected she hastened his death from Bright's Disease due to the pressure she put on him to hasten through the program of reforms. She continued to travel with Charles and Selina Bracebridge to Greece and Egypt where she had yet another vision from God while in Cairo where "God called me in the morning and asked me would I do good for him alone without reputation."
