	Abilities
	Chekov is highly intelligent to the point that he graduated both school as well as having a mastery of quantum mechanics and physics - both theoretical and experimental. He's incredibly quick at thinking and can at times actually think faster than a computer itself. He is also highly skilled in tactics, strategy and navigation. He also has some abilities in engineering from helping Scotty out at times.
	Weaknesses
	He is incredibly excitable and has the ability to talk Russian - his native language. He also doesn't have the best people skills, not having many friends mostly due to just how much younger than he was than his peers. He also has the problem of often speaking his mind, especially in nervewracking (good or bad) situations.
	Personality
	Pavel Chekov's most defining trait is his intelligence which borders on genius level if not an actual genius. From a young age it was obvious that he was to go great distances with his intelligence. He has picked things up easily and has the ability to make intuitive leaps nearly instantly that others can't or have to work really hard to get. It isn't surprising therefore that he therefore is quite a bit younger than other Ensigns his age, having skipped years of work and even took college classes when he was twelve. It is perhaps a good thing that he is so intelligent as he continually wants to learn new things, the harder the better in his opinion. He loves tackling challenging tasks especially in maths and science though his passion is quantum physics. It isn't just learning though it's the exploring part of new things that captures his interest too which is one reason why he joined Starfleet to begin with - he wanted to explore the universe, see what is out there and push the boundaries on things he could learn during his life. He is easily excitable about a lot of things, especially when something is going well for him. When excited he has a habit of bounce on his heels and talk rapidly, slipping into his native tongue of Russian. The more exciting the situation is the happier he is in a lot of ways, in fact he thrives on this energy and seems to do his best work under these situations. With his intelligence his mind often wanders when in the company of others because he can understand things so much faster than theirs which has left him to figure out ways to entertain himself. Most of the time he does this by coming up with exciting (in his opinion) theories about pretty much anything he can think of at that particular moment. Because he has spent so much time learning as well as being younger than the majority of his peers he doesn't have great people skills though he is slowly getting better at them. That isn't to say that he is awkward around people though his best friends forever Sulu and Scotty are great people and he gets along well with them without any awkwardness them. They're his bro's and he would do anything for them - his Keptain too for that matter though he practically worships that man and all that he has done. That isn't even beginning to mention his lack of skills with people of the opposite sex. Yes he finds them attractive and identifies as straight but he might as well be dead when it comes to them. Of course by the time he started to develop interest in women everyone saw him as their baby brother due to the age gap and otherwise he just clams up and won't say a word if he likes them.
	Third Person Sample
	Chekov looked around the Bridge of the Enterprise a smile on his face despite some of the darker thoughts that were going through his mind at that particular time. The crew of this ship had gone through so much together from attack by Nero to the destruction of Vulcan and then the whole incident with Khan and the near destruction of the ship and family that he called home now. For that was what the crew of the Enterprise was - his family and he knew that they would do anything for each other. His best friends, his brothers in arms - Sulu and Scotty where the two he was closest too but even his Captain who he looked up to and admired above all - even Spock had a special place in his heart. This was what he had dreamed of doing - the opportunity to travel in space was too good to pass up. Pavel had always pushed himself to learn new things and explore the unknown and joining Starfleet, travelling in space allowed him to do just that both at the same time. It was so exciting and he thrived on that excitement and the chance to push himself for he knew Captain Kirk would expect nothing less of him and the rest of the crew of their ship. When they heard about Kirk's death to save the ship Chekov while feeling proud that his 'Keptain' would do that to save them all he was furious that he had left them alone. After all of that when he lived again, Chekov had found Bones and hugged him till he could barely breathe he was that grateful. Suddenly the turbolift doors opened onto the Bridge and he noticed the subject of his thoughts walk out. "Keptain on the ze Bridge!" he called out jumping up to salute him as he did so.
