appearance

Patrick stands at a respectable 6'1. He has a fairly strong bone structure which along with his skin tone is a throwback to his African heritage. He has a habit of slouching unfortunately which makes him look shorter than he actually is. Patrick has always dressed well and has the skill to make a tracksuit look well worn and presentable which not many other people can do. Most surprisingly is that he has a tiny silver stud in his left ear which you could quite easily miss if you didn't know it was there. In the privacy of his own rooms he will often dress as a girl though these days, despite preferring wearing girls clothes he won't go out and about in them as he doesn't know how others would react to it and after his experience at High School he wants to be careful.

personality

Patrick is an odd person when it comes down to it. Sure he's hardworking, dedicated and friendly enough but the problem is that he's just... Odd. From a young age he was interested in a lot of things other people weren't - he was fascinated by dark and grisly stuff such as murder, natural disasters and the like. As he grew up though his parents separated and his father became a cross-dresser which opened up all sorts of other opportunities for Patrick that he would go on to explore. At 13, turning up to school in a skirt is not a good idea he quickly learned but at the same time... He was comfortable dressing like that. That was the beginning of him truly becoming an outsider with everyone that he knew, even the few friends that he had turned his back on him which wasn't something he understood at the time. During the years at school he was bullied badly due to this and has come to close off from a lot of people, doesn't open up about himself and will rarely talk to others incase he says something he shouldn't. A small part of him hopes that the people at Atlantis will be more open minded as they're going to school to learn magic of all things but he still isn't all that trusting when it comes down to it. For now he'll dress as a boy for classes until he gets the feel of his year mates and the other students at the school before dressing as a girl in public. Despite all of that, Patrick is highly intelligent, hard working and does well at school. While he is naturally clever the rest of it is due to having no friends during his teenage years so he delved into his school work like it was the only thing that matter. Since then it has become second nature to him to work hard, to put 110% into his work and do the absolute best he can because if all else fails he at least has his marks and intelligence to take him places. If Patrick could have one thing in his life it would be to be accepted as who he is - as Patrick Ward, crossdresser but a part of him knows it will never happen - at least in this lifetime. It doesn't stop him from hoping and dreaming of a more accepting world. Sexuality wise though he isn't all that comfortable with his bisexuality and tries his hardest to deny it. To him being a crossdresser is easier to accept than being a bisexual and if anyone asks he is straight. Patrick can be rather blunt at times, especially when he loses his temper though he often comes to regret as he can lose it at a drop of the hat, mostly because he is that insecure and often thinks people are attacking him. Despite all of this Patrick is a hard worker, dedicated and just wants to be happy and accepted in life.

MOTHER: Abigail FATHER: Rossum SIBLINGS: n/a OTHER NOTABLE RELATIVES: n/a Abigail and Rossum had met at a nudist beach so it wasn't all that surprising that their relationship was odd from the start of it. Patrick was their only child and for the most part was left to his own devices when he was growing up - though his parents did have some part in it especially in his earliest years of his childhood. AS a child he was allowed to pretty much do what he wanted to do which lead him to developing some odd interests. He often studied animals and bugs, just watching them how they life but even how they died like flies and birds, how mother birds went out of their way to protect their chicks and so forth - he was fascinated by it all. That wasn't the only sort of thing that his childhood encompassed that could be called odd. He was fascinated by the damage that natural disasters, especially fires, could cause to other people and while he never wanted to be caught in on himself when they occurred he would follow the events of them religiously. Not that his parents minded - they were fairly odd themselves. When Patrick was ten his father started to explore some of his more odd interests and started to wear womens clothing. Patrick and his mother just shrugged it off at first while the others in the town ridiculed him. In time though Patrick found it intriguing and the thought of wearing woman's clothing appealed to him, especially after hearing what his father said about the 'freedom' of wearing skirts and dresses. Plus he just didn't enjoy wearing guys clothes all the time, girls clothes were much prettier to him and had often looked through them for a 'sister' if anyone had asked. Using that excuse a few months later he bought himself a skirt. He wore it around his room for a while before his parents finally discovered it and they were fine, encouraging him to do what he was comfortable with and what he wanted to do. In time he was wearing it more and more often until when he was twelve he wore it to school one day. He didn't think anything of it - he was wearing it all the time at home and his parents were fine, his dad was at this time living away from home having met a guy who he was interested in and accepted him as a cross-dresser. Unfortunately his classmates who had always found him slightly odd teased him and shunned him like they never had before. Patrick didn't understand why but nothing he did changed their mind so instead he delved into his school work and studied in all of his spare time. In the end it meant he did ridiculously well at school and developed a passion for studying and learning as it was all he had in those days even if a part of him still craved acceptance from his peers though he has yet to get it. Finishing school with near perfect marks in all of his subjects he had choice of college to attend but he had no idea what he wanted to study. The problem was solved when he was approached by a recruiter for Atlantis. At first he didn't believe him but he accepted it quickly enough. Now that he is here, he isn't sure what to make of it but he's determined to at least make one friend though he is going out of his way to hide his interest in girls clothing until they can accept him and hopefully they won't reject him - though he still wears them around his dorm room.
