APPEARANCE

Standing at 5'7, Iryana is rather tall and slender, she also has slightly wider shoulders than normal and higher cheek bones. She doesn't look like the typical beauty and she is even plainer than her sister in a lot of ways, who she believes to be a true beauty. There is something about her that yells, beautiful in that unusual way. Perhaps it is the way she carries herself, or the way her appearance just works to make her seem attractive to a lot of people.

While her heritage made sure she had a lot of the best clothes even if it totally didn't matter to her. She was more interested in wearing comfortable dresses than the most fashionable ones.

HISTORY

Iryana Behar is the middle of the three children born to her parents, with her sister Astera being three years younger than her and their brother being the oldest of the three of them. He was a Noble to the king Darius and while they didn't live in the Palace growing up, they were quite well off.

Iryana was always an obedient daughter who focused on pleasing her parents and doing what was expected of her even if she disagreed with them. They were her parents and therefore to be respected and listened too, when she was an adult she would be able to follow her own ideas but for the time being she had to respect her parents and the choices she made. While growing up she found she didn't agree much with her father and his habit of manipulating people to his own end, not being all that ambitious herself but she knew better than to speak her mind.

One of the earliest lessons that Iryana learned as a child was to keep her mouth shut and do what she was told, something she was more than capable of doing. She spent a lot of her time reading or sewing when she wasn't attending her lessons.

While she was rather different to her siblings she loved them and enjoyed spending time with them. and trusted them more than anyone (beside herself) though like all siblings they had their problems at times too but they managed to over come them.

All through her childhood and teen years she enjoyed the status that came with her father being one of Darius's trusted advisor's though it wasn't until she lost it that she fully began to comprehend just how much she relied on it.

She had heard stories of Alexander and his conquests across the world but had never believed that he would conquer Persia where she and her family lived. Not until it happened. The first sign of trouble came with the sightings of the atmospheric class battle cruiser, Bucephalus in the skies. There wasn't time for her to fully understand what was happening before Alexander had conquered them.

That was the one time in her life that she was absolutely petrified. Since then she has been scared beyond belief but never to the amount of terror the sight of the cruiser and Alexander's armies instilled in her.

After the fall of Persia to the Macedonian's she believed that her family and she would be punished for their status in Darius's country but instead her father turned traitor on those he once called friends. While a part of her understood why he had done so, she was still disgusted by it, especially when he informed her of his plans for her.

That was the first time she ever spoke back to her father. The punishment wasn't worth it.

Nearly dying from that attack - she was nursed back to health and then her father implemented his plan of whoring her out along with her sister Astera in hopes of gaining father with Alexander. She absolutely hates what she is forced to do but she will do it to save her own life. Though a tiny part of her wonders if she would be better off dead she knows that she'll do nothing about it.
PERSONALITY

Iryana is a quiet person who has always preferred staying in the background rather than being the centre of attention like a lot of her family happy to go on with what she is told by her family, especially her father. That isn't to say she is spineless or has no opinions of her own as that is far from the fact, she was raised to respect and listen to her elders and therefore she refrains from speaking her mind when it would go against their decisions.

Iryana has very firm beliefs when it comes to her life, she believes in peace and that one should follow the path set out for them by their parents if there is one. If not one should do what is best for them and their family while following their passions in life. Most of all they should never do anything that would be detrimental to their life, their family and their general happiness.

It is therefore probably not at all surprising that she doesn't agree with how her father has treated her and her sister since Alexander took over Persia or his betrayal of Darius who he had been loyal to all of his life previously. To Iryana, loyalty is the most important thing and should never be broken and therefore what her father did was truly disgusting. Still she knows better than to go against him, especially after the punishment she received from talking back to him.

A part of her knows that her father only treated her so due to the fact that she is so pliable and known to follow along with what he had said. She likes to dream that if she had been more forceful while growing up that she wouldn't be in this position to begin with though she knows her father would have found another way to ensure it occurred. Still she continues to dream of it ending one day.

Iryana has a big heart and when she cares for people it is completely - even if they haven't treated her well in the past (her father for example). She believes in marrying for love and despite everything she has hold onto hope that she will one day meet the person she will fall in love with and spend the rest of her life with. She is also a rather peaceful person and absolutely hates violence and the thought of it. While she isn't glad of the outcome of the war she is glad that the battle is over though and no one else will die.

Iryana isn't all that smart but she is a hard worker and will try her hardest to do the absolute best at things even if she isn't brilliant at them. All of her life she has tried her hardest to do better and better than she has done but nothing has succeeded all that much so far. This hasn't stopped her from trying though.

SAMPLES

Iryana looked out over the grounds of the palace where they were confined to after the fall of Persia to the Macedonia's that were lead by Alexander. It was hard for her to imagine that it had been such a short amount of time since the war had ended but here she was on the loosing side, with little freedom despite her father's betrayal of the King he had been a trusted advisor of for so long. Iryana was the first to admit (at least to herself) that she didn't understand why her father had done what he had done. Yes, it had allowed them some more freedom than they might have otherwise but it was despicable that he was able to turn his back on the man who had done so much for him over the years.

That wasn't even mentioning what he had forced her and her sister Astera to do in order to gain himself favour with Alexander.

Iryana, upon being informed she was to be whored out had spoken out against her father for the first time in her life and the consequences of that was something she did not like to think about nor want repeated. It was the only reason that she had given in to his demands - she liked being alive and she believed he would have no problem in killing her or sending her off to who knew where to live out the remainder of her days to be forgotten by everyone else.

Her disgust at being whored out to Alexander and his army was why she was currently on this balcony avoiding everyone at the party. She was aware from past experience that if she spent too much time inside that someone would find her and force them home with them, she having little choice in the matter. That wasn't to say she wouldn't be found out here and forced to service someone but she hoped that they would forget about her if they couldn't see her.

Sighing she leant against the railing, letting her thoughts drift to the time before all of this, the time when she thought everything was perfect. She hadn't liked it all that much at the time but now that it was gone she realised how much she missed it, how much she enjoyed her life. She was so involved in her thoughts that she didn't hear the footsteps of the person approaching or their voice.

The first clue she had that someone had approached her was their hand on her shoulder making her spin around in fright a demand of what they were doing on the tip of her tongue before she saw her it was.
