Overall Personality: Lucius is considered to be a cold and aloof by many people as he acts as a snobbish pureblood while in public while around people he likes and trusts he is a lot more relaxed even though he still upholds the pureblood standards. He looks down on people who are of lower status of him or muggle-lovers and only accepts other purebloods of high standing for him to socialise with- when he has the choice of course. Lucius is a proper pureblood and only associates with those of similar standing.

This way of acting is that Lucius has actually always supported the Light but he has been a spy for them, only Dumbledore and select few know the truth though. He refuses to put his children in danger by having to many people know about his true alliances. Lucius actually hates the Dark Arts and blood surpremacy with the ideals that everyone is equal. He originally wasn't like this but at Hogwarts he was paired with a Muggleborn in potions and slowly became friends with them.

He often pretends not to be close to his parents as that is proper way to behave. He doesn't have friends but acquaintances to the outside world though he does consider the elder of the Lestrange brother to be a friend along with a few other people he went to school with. He secretly loves his family very much though he appears distant to them. This is because he is afraid of loosing them to his opponents. Due to this love he can anger quickly especially when he doesn't get his own way but he has learnt to control it enough that people do not realise he is angry- the majority of time.

Despite believing in equality he has many personality traits that can be found in Purebloods. Among these are the pride he takes in the way he looks and will never go anywhere without looking the best that he can- every hair in place, his robes perfectly in place without a single crease in them, his robes have to be the latest fashion and all that sort of thing. He refuses to look anything but the best of the best and isn't afraid to spend the money to show this.

Lucius is extremely loyal to his family and friends as well as a hard worker which is what landed him in Hufflepuff at Hogwarts much to his parents shame. The only thing that saved him was that the hate nearly put him in Slytherin. As well as this Lucius is also driven by his ambitions to succeed and become the best that he can be. He wants to help win the war, he wants his family to be safe, he wants to be a trusted confident of many high influential Politicains apart from himself- he refuses to talk to the Minister unless he has to. He wants to show people that he is better than them. His marriage to Narcissa original began as a way to show that he was a worthy Pureblood to marry into the House of Black one of the most notable Pureblood families. Along with this is his ability to lie convincingly. This helps him in that he can get people to what he wants them to do. If he doesn't like something he can make out that he loves it, he can make out that his beliefs are one thing when they aren't though a lot of people believe that they know him they actually don't.

Overall Family Dynamics: Very tense. Lucius marriage was very tense and that has left him feeling a bit distant to Draco while he dotes on Pansy but he can't help that. When he sees Draco he is reminded of his marriage and wife but none the less he loves the two of them with everything he has and would hate to see anything happen to them or for them to waste their lives. Not only that but the rest of his family- both distant Malfoy's and the Black's want nothing to do with him because of his affair. It doesn't' help that the Black's blame him for Narcissa's death but actually think that he killed her even if it hasn't been said out right.

History: At Lucius was born on August 13 1954 to Astra and Abraxas Malfoy taking the place of their heir and oldest child. While he was growing up he was trained to be the perfect pureblood heir as well as many spells, curses and hexes. He excelled at the darker spells which he started to learn at the age of seven. Even at such a young age he gave off an air that showed he was proud and proper young man who should not be trifled with. Often described as distant, cold and a perfectionist he was the proper Pureblood heir. He interacted with other Pureblood's who were of the same status of him that were carefully chosen by his parents though he only came to call a couple of them friends.

By the time he started school he was well adapted to magic and could perform many of the simple spells up to the end of his third year. He would have liked to have been able to perform more but his parents had decided they didn't want him completely consumed by his studies as a young child. He excelled at Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms though he did quite well in all of his subjects except for Potions which he was miserable with. Throughout his early years at Hogwarts he was renowned for his temper if you pissed him off as well as his vanity- which some people said rivaled the vainest of girls. He was a favourite of Professor Slughorn along with the elder Lestrange and a few other members of his year who he couldn't stand but had to hang around

He received O's in Charms, Defence and Transfiguration and E's in Ancient Runes, Arithmacy, History of Magic and Herbology and a P in Potions which he thought was rather a good score considering how bad at it he was. When he sat his OWLs. He received the same scores on his NEWTs apart from receiving an E in Transfiguration and an O in Arithmacy and not sitting the NEWT for History of Magic, Potions or Herbology. During his years at Hogwarts he remained friends with Rodolphus Lestrange as well as being friendly with Bellatrix Black and a select few others in his house. At the end of his seventh year his parents took him to the new Dark Lord to be marked and he quickly found a place among his followers and quickly advanced to become a member of the inner circle as well as manage to advise the Minister on things that would help to advance their cause.

When he had graduated from Hogwarts his father had taken him to the Dark Lord to become one of his servants which Lucius did more than willingly as he had always wanted to join his ranks ever since the rumours of his rise to power had started Over the next years he rose through the ranks of the Death Eaters eventually becoming one of the Dark Lord's most trusted servants. Lucius also started to donate large amounts of money to particular charities to form an image of someone who cared for the Wizarding Community when in actual fact he is just trying to advance him and his family for his own purposes. For this reason he also started to bribe Ministry officials especially Cornelius Fudge who he has become a sort of unofficial advisor for.

Not long after graduating from Hogwarts, Narcissa and he announced their engagement and were married two years later. They had met during his second year at Hogwarts and he considered her a friend for many years. At first he wouldn't have said that he loved her but he did fall in love with her rather quickly though he would never admit it. After their lavish wedding they moved into Malfoy Manor with his parents though they were in a separate wing to them. Over the next few months they became to trust one another explicitly due to their affection and common goals and interests.

Narcissa and he had their first and only child Draco in 1980. That was the year the Dark Lord disappeared and everything changed in their marriage. Lucius had been growing annoyed with Narcissa for many years now, she was much vainer than he thought she was originally and only seemed to want to gossip about clothes, people and herself. She annoyed the hell out of him with her inane chatter. At the beginning of 1979 he had hired a secratary to work for him, a pretty young lady he was attracted to. With his growing annoyance at his wife that was quickly turning into a hatred he started an affair with her. A few months later she disappeared much to his shame. He actually quite liked her. Then, a day or so after Draco was born the reason appeared on his doorstep. A daughter, he had a daughter with another person. Of coruse, Lucius took her in and insited on raising her as their own but once again Cissa proved how shallow she was in his opinion when she didn't want to. Over the next eleven years they didn't have much to do with each other so he wasn't at all upset, barely noticed for that matter when she left him. When it came to light that she was believed to be dead he felt a pang of guilt that his children wouldn't have a mother figure but he pushed it aside. He was free now.

The next few years went calmly enough with him dating a few people as his marriage was now devolved due to his wife's death but never settled down. Some of these lasted longer than others but none a significant amount of time. He was the only person really in his children's life as the Black's wanted nothing to do with him. He has tried to raise his children as best as he could but between his work and being a DE he doesn't' have a lot of time for them even if he wishes this wasn't the case. While slightly disappointed with Pansy's sorting he didn't say anything about it. She was his daughter and he loved her.

What plot lines would you like to see with this character? I would like to see how he interacts with his children and they interact with him knowing he had the affair as well as some interactions with the Black's if they ever ran across each other. When Narcissa comes back it will be interesting to see how they react to each other too.

Audition Piece
Lucius had to admit he loved his children a lot and would do anything for him. He also loved being single, perhaps that was why none of his relationships lasted long? He wasn't sure about that final bit though as he knew he definately did miss having a female prescene in his life= the majority of them had personalities that clashed to much with his own for anything to come from them.

Pansy and Draco had just headed back to Hogwarts a couple of weeks ago so once again the house was empty. It had been good having them around again, but really the house was too big for just the three of them. Perhaps they needed a smaller one but this had been in his family for generations. He couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Sighing he picked up his journal to write to his child and see how they were going except he dropped it in shock. The latest entry in there was by a hand he never thought he would see again. Someone who was supposed to be dead.

Short Bio
Lucius Malfoy is an enigma. He grew up in a Pureblood family but secretly supports equality while publically is a Death Eater. Not only that but he is a single father to his son and bastard daughter who he cares for a lot. They mean the world to him despite their arguments at times.
