The power works best when the person is in close proximity and feeling strong emotions, the weaker the emotions and/or the further away the person is the harder it is for her to sense them.

PERSONALITY

Strengths: determined, loyal, friendly, intelligent, empathetic, Weaknesses: stubborn, has a fierce temper, holds grudges, Detailed Personality: Lily Potter is the type of person who's personality exactly matches her appearances. With a fiery temper that matches her red hair she can be your best friend or worst enemy depending on your actions. She is the type of person to give people second chances, always believing the best of everyone unless they do something drastic, betraying her in the worst popular ways. Ever since she was young she has valued justice, honesty and loyalty to people above all other things. She will be the first person to stand up for someone and the first to let you know when you are behaving badly, in a way that isn't acceptable as a human being. She's the type of person who knows her values and ethics and won't go against them, she will do all that she can to uphold her beliefs even if it means hurting people in the long run - she's blunt and will say what she is thinking preferring to hurt someone then and there with the truth than lie to them. Despite that, Lily has a massive heart and cares for her family and friends a lot to the point where she would willingly sacrifice herself if it meant them staying alive. Whenever they are hurt, upset or angry she feels it herself and will do all that she can to fix it. Unfortunately she does have a habit of blaming herself for their situations at times even if it isn't her fault. She is very much a maternal figure and will baby all of those around her - even older than her if she thinks they need it, keeping an eye on them to make sure they don't over do it and so forth. Lily has always been incredibly clever - both people smart and book smart which has served her well over the years. She was always in the top 10% of her class if not at the top of it and while she was a hard worker she didn't over do it but had the sense to allow and want herself to do the best that she possibly could. She instinctively knows how to act around people in situations though her temper can get the better of her at times but she always (or nearly always) regrets it afterwards. Not surprisingly, she can be highly emotional at times and when she gets so, especially after loosing her temper at someone she cares about, she has the bad habit of comfort eating especially dark chocolate. Knowing this and knowing it is better for her in the long run she takes great care to eat healthily the rest of the time and tries to get her family to do the same as well.

HISTORY

Parents: Daisy and Steven Siblings: Petunia Significant Other: James Potter Other Relatives of Note: Harry Potter (son) Amelia Lily (daughter) Canon History: here AU History: Lily Rose was born on January 30th 1970 as the youngest and second daughter of Daisy and Steven Evans, her sister Petunia being a couple of years older her. Growing up, her mother stayed at home to raise her and her sister while Steven worked as a truck driver - it wasn't the most posh jobs nor the best paying but it brought in enough money to keep the family fed, clothed and comfortable. Petunia and her were best friends, playing together and spending a lot of time with one another. When they were nine though, they started to grow slightly apart though they did remain good friends. That was when she met Severus Snape a boy who lived not that far from her. Lily found herself drawn to him and quickly became close friends with her but Petunia didn't like this, it was taking Lily away from her and she thought Severus was 'stupid, dumb' and numerous other things. Lily, after hearing this avoided the two of them for a week out of spite - she was annoyed at her sister for being mean to her friend and she didn't want to loose her sister's friendship so she avoided Severus too. In the end though she caved and saw Severus again, explained it all to her which he accepted and Petunia eventually calmed down as well which Lily was thankful for. At school, Lily excelled at her classes but instead of becoming known as a teacher's pet (for the most part) she managed to make a lot of friends with the children in her year - for the most part, there were some (mainly James Potter) who annoyed her beyond belief. In fact she would have gone as far as to say that she hated him. She and Severus remained close and she made plenty of other friends who she would cherish for life. As she grew older she became more and more aware of how she instinctively could tell what other people were feeling and what they wanted. At first she thought she was just very good at reading people but she soon started to realise it was more than that, she could actually read people's emotions. She had the sense not to tell anyone about it though, it wasn't exactly normal after all. Over the years she dated a couple of people but it wasn't until her final year that she started to see James Potter in a romantic way. It was during this year that she started to realise that he had truly grown up and he wasn't actually that bad. She wasn't sure when or how but she soon found herself in love with him. Perhaps it was also due to seeing that his feelings for her were true but she agreed to date him. She had no idea that she would end up married to him not that long into the future. For the following year they started to house hunt, organise a wedding and everything else. Until she found out she was pregnant with their first child which pushed up the wedding plans and it wasn't that long after that Harry James, their first child and only boy was born. Lily adored him and while she tried to counteract James spoiling him she couldn't help but do it at times too. It wasn't long after that she discovered she was pregnant yet again, this time with a girl who they called Amelia Lily. Lily adored both of her children and was happy staying at home with them and while she does love James she will be the first to admit that he annoys her greatly at times too. When he suggested that they move across the pond she was slightly hesitant not because of where but it meant leaving their friends and family. She finally gave him and told him with a comment of "Might as well, I think I'm one too." She had never actually figured out if she was a mutant or just exceptionally good at reading people though she did lean towards the former. After the family had settled in at the Xavier's Town and the children were old enough to look after themselves, she undertook a degree in Psychology and opened her own practice there in town.
