APPEARANCE! Lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric Sturgis stands at 1.83m, fairly average in height, he has dirty blond hair and brown eyes. Given his personality, he does have a mischievous look about him. Despite that it's the type of mischievous look that you can't help but trust, the look of someone who knows what they are talking about - even when they're being silly/mucking around. Due to this he's gotten a lot of people over the years to do some rather stupid things by making them believe that it is a serious thing. If Sturgis could get away with it he'd wear the trashiest, clothes that he could find - holes be damn. He dresses for comfort and doesn't care what others think of him, though thanks to Caradoc he does own 'decent clothes'. Despite that, Sturgis's clothes are out there with bright colours and loud designs. He is absolutely in love with Hawaiian shirts, any clothes that are fluro yellow or bright orange and is often wearing a scarf of some sort, yeah he's gay and he's proud of it. PERSONALITY! Lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric While he is no longer as out going as he was while he was at Hogwarts, Sturgis still is somewhat loud and has the habit of rushing into things. Some people might mistake this for idoicity, which it is in some ways but because he is just the type of person who will go to help others without fully thinking through the situation. This has lead to many arguments with his best friend Caradoc over the years though the two end up compromising on things a lot. Sturgis is incredibly loyal to his friends and family, especially those friends that he considers honorary family, especially his BFF (who he has been secretly gay for since Hogwarts) Caradoc Dearborn, and their families are included in that. He would never betray those who he calls friends and would do anything to protect them. The biggest cause of his personality change between when he was younger and now is seeing just how dangerous the real world is. Being one of the few people who knew of Caradoc's job and how it effected him and the growing tensions between the Purist's and Rebels, Sturgis came to the realisation that acting the way he did in Hogwarts - loud, speaking without thinking and rushing into situations that ended up with him in detention more times than he could count - and getting lectured by Caradoc on top of that. While Sturgis, nearly ended up in Hufflepuff there was a reason he didn't end up in Ravenclaw - he just wasn't that smart. He managed to get by with help from Caradoc but even then he was still quite average at Hogwarts, just scrapping through in a lot of his subjects. When it came down to it, he just didn't see the point of working there were other, more fun things to do with his time. Most of all though, Sturgis is gay. He's loud, he wears bright clothes, calls people dear and sweetie and is very touchy feely with other people and has trouble not touching them when they wish not to be. Of course, he will go out of his way to respect people's wishes and not to annoy them but sometimes he just can't help it. One of his biggest flaws is that he has a very dirty mouth and can swear a lot, especially when he is annoyed or excited about something.
HISTORY! Lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric lyric Sturgis Podmore is the youngest of three children born to Mirabelle and Joseph Sturgis a normal, run of the mill Commoner Family. Mirabelle was a stay at home wife while the three children were young before she started to work as a clerk at a store on Diagon Alley while Joseph worked as a chef. His childhood was relatively normal, he and his siblings were homeschooled though his parents did consider sending them to a Muggle primary school they realised that would be impossible with the current rules and regulations in place. Sturgis never really took to his schoolwork, instead he much preferred having fun with his friends though he did have a good mind for Potions and what went well together, being able to modify things and know exactly how things worked with one another and why. He always put this down to the fact that from a young age his father started to teach him to follow in the families business of running the bakery, which was passed down the male Podmore line for as far back as anyone can remember. At Hogwarts, it wasn't that surprising that he was sorted into Gryffindor given his personality and the fact his two sisters* had made it into that house before him. It was there that he met Caradoc Dearborn who would go on to become his best friend for life. While the two of them had very different personalities for being in the same house the two of them got on well and seemed to meet in the middle when it came to things to do. Caradoc was more of the quiet, bookish person while Sturgis was the loud, out going one who loved to have fun and ended up in trouble a lot. It wasn't a surprise that the two of them ended up arguing a lot and that hasn't changed much during the years but it's a testament to their friendship that they managed to figure things out and come to a compromise. It was only thanks to Caradoc that Sturgis ended up doing as well as he did at Hogwarts. If it wasn't for his friend he probably would have ended up failing the majority of his classes time and time again instead he was rather average at them all except for Defense and Potions which he seemed to take to naturally. Sturgis spent the majority of his time horsing around with his friends or chasing after the girls. Those relationships never lasted long with him breaking it off not long after they started. His relationship with ___ was the longest, lasting a whole two months much to everyone's surprise. Truthfully, Sturgis just never felt anything in them and only dated women because it was expected and he was trying to find that feeling that everyone talked about. It was in his sixth year though, that he realised that he had been in love with his best friend, Caradoc and that scared him more than he liked to admit. He had never considered himself gay before but suddenly everything made sense to him. He tried to hide it though and started to peruse girls even more though his heart was no longer in it and people could tell. It wasn't until three years after they graduated though that he confessed to Caradoc that he was gay and it wasn't long after that which he came out to his family and then the public in general in that he no longer hid his sexuality. Most people were fine with it - especially those that new him well though there was of course the people that didn't accept him for it. Given it was the 70s and while in the Muggle world 'hippies and peace' were cool, sexuality was still not widely accepted. Sturgis didn't care though, he was what he was and if people had a problem with it then that was their problem and not his. Slowly, with the help of his oldest sister developed his own dress style that reflected his personality. During this time, he apprenticed himself under his father to fully learn the trade of running his own business and by the time he was thirty had taken over the bakery as the main chef which was a job that he loved. Given how close he and Caradoc were it wasn't surprising that he had a strong suspicion about his friends job, though he never confirmed what it was exactly. All Sturgis knew for sure was that it was highly stressful and would often make his friend melancholy. To lighten up his mood, especially after a job, Sturgis would take him out, get him drunk and try to set him up with various girls - for both one night stands and relationships even if it didn't always work, it was at least fun and brought a smile (sometimes) to his friends face. Sturgis had never made it a secret that he wasn't fond of the Royal Family and supported Dumbledore and his ideas of equality so it wasn't all that surprising that he was recruited to join the rebellion. During these years he's had a few relationships with other guys and while none of them have lasted more than a couple of years, he still maintains that the one he will spend his life with is out there somewhere.
