It's about time the Wizarding World moved on and thought for themselves without letting one family (or just a handful) have all the power. Power corrupts after all. HISTORY TOP 5 DEFINING MOMENTS: The Birth of her need for Justice for everyone The Bones were an old family, with ideals of equality that they passed down onto their children as best as they could. Amelia, from a young age was a force to be reckoned with. She, wanted everyone to know that she didn't like the world as it was, she wanted to do what she wanted not what society dictated that she would do. Her parents eventually convinced enough people that it was just a phase and by her second year at Hogwarts she had (mostly) learned how to keep quiet. That didn't mean she stopped believing it though, if anything she became more determined to succeed. Starting Hogwarts & Her first year Staring Hogwarts, she knew she'd either be a Slytherin or Hufflepuff and it was the latter that the sorting hat decided to place her in. There she quickly became the leader of the girls in her dorm and even some of the older ones. She quickly made enemies as well, informing anyone that she thought was either a) bullying someone b) being rude c) being an idiot, exactly what she thought of them which more than often included the use of her wand and various hexes and jinxes that she had learned both before Hogwarts and while at school. By the time the end of her first year had come around she had spent an average of three months in detention for her behaviour over the course of the year. Joining the Aurors After leaving Hogwarts, Amelia applied and joined the Auror force. She quickly blitzed through her training and quickly became a name for herself. She also quickly moved up through the ranks of Aurors, until she eventually became Head of the Department. She's known for her need for justice, her dedication to her job and upholding the law and hard work as well as someone not to be trifled with. Pregnancy When she was 26, Amelia fell pregnant to someone she had been having a casual relationship with. She was shocked at first but came to accept it and even fell in love with the idea of having a child of her own even if it wasn't something she had never thought about. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Just before her fifth month, she miscarried. She was devasted by the loss of her child. She took a few months off work and went back, swearing to never have a relationship again. Of course that didn't last but she's taken steps to ensure she won't fall pregnant without planning for it. Fall of the Blacks Though, she is publicly loyal to the Potters she hasn't stated what she thinks of the events that led to the Malfoy family claiming the crown for themselves. She's scared though of just how unstable the Government will become. She doesn't like having a royal family, believing that they are outdated especially with their purist views but she also knows that having a stable royal family is better than what is happening at the moment. Though if they could pass a law to get rid of them entirely she would support that HAPPIEST MEMORY: Days spent as an entire family, having fun without a care in the world WORST MEMORY: Learning that she has lost the child, that while she wasn't happy to have originally had become excited about and had also come to love. BIGGEST SECRET: That she was actually pregnant, she never had a chance to tell anyone about it. As far as her family she suffered from a depressive episode that she played up to be due to the break up with her then partner. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?: Amelia is currently head of the DMLE, single and spending a lot of time with her family DIFFERENCE FROM CANON: Nothing really is known about her in canon. The only real difference is that her brother Edgar and his family are still alive. WRITING SAMPLES FIRST PERSON: I would like to remind everyone that not being aware of the law is NOT an acceptable excuse for breaking it. No matter how drunk you are either. Susan Hi sweetie, how's my favourite niece doing? Female friends who know of her habit Anyone want to head out to a Muggle bar at some point soon? THIRD PERSON: Amelia hummed a nameless tune, as she sat at the desk that she had been assigned within the Auror office. Her boss, had asked her to go through the form and fix any mistakes that she spotted throughout it. It was just one of the many duties that she was given in her job. She was happy to do it, not only did it allow her to know exactly what was going on in the world but she also had the chance to gain information to pass back on to the Order. At this particular moment though, the report wasn't holding her attention as much as she wanted it too. She'd gotten through half of it, before her mind had started to wonder. She knew something was happening, she would have to have been an idiot not to know that. It was something big too. That something was something that would change the world once and for all. Either the Empire would fall or it would grow all the more stronger. If it fell, the question of who would win the place and what would they do. There was the Order, the Ministry and the Knights of Walpurgis. That was something that annoyed Amelia greatly. She hated not knowing, especially as it made both her job as an Auror and a member of the Order of the Phoenix harder. The Wizarding World was at war and there was nothing that could be done but wait and see, and to pass on as much useful information as she could to Riddle and the others. The Knights and the Order had some similar ideas in that they wanted Grindewald gone and they seemed to be very much a purist party but she got a sense of 'wrongness' about them. Espeically with the attack on the Leaky Cauldron. She knew that the culprit according to her boss was a Muggle group but her gut said no. She just didn't have any proof and no idea how to find it... She was jolted out of her thoughts though as an alarm went off and one of her co-workers ran in yelling, "ATTACK ON GODRICS HOLLOW" at the top of their voice. Amelia jumped to her feet, grabbed her wand and made her way to the apparition point along with the rest of the Aurors who were in the office to deal with what was happening. PLOT IDEAS: DMLE plots, family plots, plots with the Royal Family and their security, possible finding of other people who want a democracy. I'd love her to surprise people and announce her engagement unexpectedly to someone too so that would require someone to fill that line too!
