Always dressing professionally whenever she might encounter someone outside of her home which is the only place she will allow herself to be 'casual' Amelia knows exactly how to look the part of a professional Pureblood. One of the many reasons she puts such emphasis on her clothing is that as a woman she wouldn't be given any notice so she does anything she can to get the recognition that she feels (and does) deserve. Besides her neat and professional dress, Amelia rarely wears her brown hair, which falls to just below her shoulders out preferring to keep it out of her face either in a bun or ponytail. She's never been one for adornments though she will wear a watch wherever she goes. PB: Rashilda Jones DETAIL HAPPIEST MEMORY: It was a normal day, summer. Amelia was probably twelve or thirteen at the time she can't actually remember. Surprisingly warm for the UK. Her siblings and her had been outside playing all day, swimming in a lake and just generally having fun. They came home to dinner - chicken salad - outside on the verandah before settling on beanbags with the entire family where they talked the rest of the night and fell asleep there. WORST MEMORY: Catherine as her only sister and the sibling closest to her in age was her best friend while growing up. Catherine had always been a bit of a daredevil, loving the thrill of adventure. The two of them had been spending an afternoon in Diagon Alley when Catherine, just recently turned 14, decided she wanted to explore Knockturn Alley just because it was forbidden. Amelia tried to talk her out of it but Cath didn't listen. Catherine never came back. After an hour had passed, Amelia ran to an adult - Tom at the Leaky Cauldron who called the Law Enforcement Patrol who went looking for her. They returned with Catherine's body. She had stumbled upon a deal of somesort that had gone wrong and was killed by a stray curse. While logically, Amelia knows she isn't to blame she wishes to this day that she had convinced her sister not to go down there, that she'd done something to stop her from doing what she did. GREATEST FEAR: Being the reason for the rest of her family dying GREATEST DESIRE: To have Catherine still be alive PATRONUS: While she knows the spell it hasn't quite formed into a corporal form much to her annoyace. She would love to be able to do so though. SPECIAL SKILLS: She's familiar with Dark Arts due to her jobs but she won't and ever will cast them STRENGTHS: excellent dueller, sharp mind & wit, fair, dedicated, ambitious and firm in her beliefs and values WEAKNESSES: has a fierce temper though she's much better at controlling it these days, stubborn, believes that rules and laws are there for a reason and shouldn't be broken except in the direst of circumstances, obsessive about her work, isn't good at showing emotions, was never that good at Charms and Astronomy or Herbology BOTH: hard worker to the point of obsessive, loyal but still bound by her morals and ethics, sarcastic especially when annoyed and isn't afraid to tell you exactly what she thinks LIKES: books, procedure, justice, fairness, warm rain, yoga, curling up in her bed on cold days, spending time with her family, chocolate, nuts (she keeps a constant supply in her desk), flavoured coffees (chai latte etc), lattes and cappacino's etc, young children and their innocence, a good romantic comedy DISLIKES: instant coffee, black coffee, cold miserable weather, injustice, arrogant people, idiots, dirty politicians/corruption in general, people having too much power, cleaning (thank goodness for magic!), animals, people crying (makes her uncomfortable and really doesn't know how to deal with it), having to make small talk THE PAST Amelia Susan Bones was born January 27 1943 to Benjamin and Michelle, Bones as their eldest child of their four children. She was joined over the next eight years by her three siblings who despite the age gap, was quite close to even as children. The Bones were an old family, with ideals of equality that they passed down onto their children as best as they could. Amelia, from a young age was a force to be reckoned with. She wanted everyone to know that she didn't like the world as it was, she wanted to do what she wanted not what society dictated that she would do. Her parents eventually convinced enough people that it was just a phase and by her second year at Hogwarts she had (mostly) learned how to keep quiet. That didn't mean she stopped believing it though, if anything she became more determined to succeed. Before Hogwarts, she immersed herself reading as many books about the world as she could, especially History books and asking why things were. By the time she was seven she had the answers she needed and now had to work on changing things. It was very hard to convince people that an eight year old could do that and it was the only reason besides the ones mentioned above that she got away with it. Staring Hogwarts, she knew she'd either be a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff and it was the latter that the sorting hat decided to place her in. There she quickly became the leader of the girls in her dorm and even some of the older ones. She quickly made enemies as well, informing anyone that she thought was either a) bullying someone b) being rude c) being an idiot, exactly what she thought of them which more than often included the use of her wand and various hexes and jinxes that she had learned both before Hogwarts and while at school. By the time the end of her first year had come around she had spent an average of three months in detention for her behaviour over the course of the year. During that summer, she had a long talk with her parents about her behaviour so by the time she started her second year she had backed down slightly from being so ferocious. That year, the students were still cautious of her and warned the new students about her which made some of the fear her and her temper but all in all it was calmer. In fact, by the time she was a fifth year, she had calmed down enough and become someone that the younger years respected and looked up too that she was made a prefect and later, Head Girl much to her surprise. Still, she took her responsibilities seriously and didn't let anyone get away with misbehaving especially now that she could actually deal with it in a way that meant that she herself didn't get into trouble. She and her best friend sometimes had a good chuckle about this though. After Hogwarts, she applied and was accepted into the Aurors with dreams of one day leading the department before moving up to become the Minister. Even if women weren't exactly allowed to do that. Amelia blitzed through the training and came out easily at the top of her class. Her trainers all said she had a lot of potential and she knew that was the case. By the tim. e she graduated to a full Auror, she had already made quite a name for herself. She was known for her fairness, sense of justice and the fact that you didn't want to get on the wrong end of her temper (and wand). Despite leading numerous successful missions, capturing number of law breakers and teaching a successful dueling class to the trainees she's still a general, run of the mill Auror which annoys her. She is well aware that if she had been a man she would have been promoted to at least a Senior Auror but as a female she hasn't and deep down knows that she won't. THE FUTURE As the war progresses, Amelia's brother [Andrew] and his wife will give birth to a daughter Susan Bones who is named after her. She will lose Edgar and his entire family due to his (unknown to her) envolvement wit hthe Order of the Phoenix as well as her parents which devestates her as she has always been and always will be quite close to her family. After the war, Amelia will be involved in capturing the remaining Death Eaters and bringing them to justice before climbing through the ranks to become one of the best Director's of the DMLE. She will try and weed out corruption from the DMLE but she isn't all that successful. She tries to bring everyone a fair trail including the underage magic trail of Harry Potter before his fifth year which she thinks is ridiculous to be tried in front of the entire Wizengamont intstead of a small hearing about why it happened with her and Mafalda and a representative for him. Especially given that many Pureblood's can get away with doing magic by using their parents wands. It is during this time that she continues to try and get more funding for her department but continually turns down as they're 'at peace' which means after the Triwizard Tournament they're in a bad shape. She believes Potter and Dumbledore even if Fudge and the rest of the Ministry doesn't, no matter how much she doesn't want it to be true she's sensible enough to know they wouldn't lie about it. During that year she tries to do all that she can but after Voldemort is announced as actually having returned it's too late. She dies weeks later in a one on one duel with Voldemort. PLOT QUESTIONS How does your character imagine their future now? She imagines it much the same. It's not too bad but as I say below she would want to change some things for the better such as keeping her family alive and stopping You Know Who from returning. Oh and she really doesn't want to die! How will your character react to their Maximum Memories? Honestly? She is terrified of what is going to come. She wants her family to live and while she does want the war to end she really hopes that she can prevent Voldemort's return and her death. She also really wants Fudge out of the Ministry cause oh dear god he's an idiot and causes so many problems. She's going to do al lthat she can to change it for the future. She wants to go on a blitz of the MoM and clean it out before they can do too much, make people pay for what they have/will done especially if they end up getting off after the war. She's torn on her brother being a member of the OotP though because while she gets why she's too much of a stickler for rules to be happy with it. Which characters are you most excited to plot with? Her family, the Ministry people possibly working with people to actually stop Riddle from returning etc. EVERYONE.
