Politics

VIEWS ON BLOOD STATUS: Growing up in a mixed town with a Halfblood mother and Muggle father has left Minerva to be extremely opened minded when it came to people's family history. While as a young child she had a bit to do with Muggles she tended to keep away from then not because they were Muggles but because she couldn't connect to them on any sort of level. Then again, she didn't connect with the few magical children she knew either.

At Hogwarts she was sorted into Gryffindor and didn't mind befriending people from different houses- her best friends were both Pureblood but that was purely coincidental as some of her other friends were muggleborns. Minerva would secretly call her self neutral even though she fights for the Light as she doesn't really care and thinks that everyone should make up their own mind. If she knew more about Muggles and could interact with them she probably would be firmly on the side of the light.

VIEWS ON THE WAR: Despite all of that and as a result of growing up during WWII and the Grindelwald War she believes that the two worlds should stay separate but Muggleborns, Halfbloods and Purebloods alike should not be discriminated against. Muggleborn families should have some sort of oath so that they literally can't tell people about the Wizarding World as she knows it will be devastating if Muggle World did find out about them.

Appearance

GENERAL APPEARANCE: Minerva, stands at a reasonably tall height for her age. With black hair and blue eyes she has a rather striking appearance despite coming off as rather stern a lot of the time. She prefers comfortable clothes over fashionable and prefers sensible clothing most of all even going as far as to wear trousers at times.
PB: Anna Paquin

Personality.

LIKES: Quidditch, Wizarding Chess, reading, open mindedness, loyalty and honesty, transfiguration, summer, swimming, friends
DISLIKES: Quodpot, coffee, biogotory, prejudices, lies, cabbage, dogs, violence, manipulating people

WEAKNESSES: Trusts easily, takes people into her heart easily. Divination, Herbology, stubborn, puts others ahead of herself, doesn't like opening up to people,

DETAILED PERSONALITY: Minerva is a kind, caring but stern woman who looks out for all of her friends and classmates. She uses her stern exterior to keep other students under control in her role of prefect and won't take any misbehaving unless it’s an extreme case, as she works hard to protect them.

She enjoys a good conversation with friends and is easy to get along with once you break through her sternness which is actually quite easy to do. Minerva tries to make friends with everyone she has a lot of interaction with even if they have a rocky start though when she was younger she was extremely shy among groups of people and people she hadn't met before. This slowly changed as she moved through Hogwarts with the help of her friends who she came to rely on greatly.

She cares a lot about her friends and family which many consider a weakness and is quite adverse to prejudice of any sort which many people didn't and still don't like. Once someone gets into Minerva's heart they will find it is extremely hard for them to get out of it again as she forms friendships for life. Many people value the fact that they can rely on her in times of need and is always willing to listen to them.

Minerva at heart is a person who loves learning and is known to be a bit of a bookworm and quiet intelligent. She has always worked hard at her work and believes in doing the best that she can at everything. That of course doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun of course. She enjoys Quidditch and relaxing with her friends, just like anyone else would.

She is a firm believer in justice and has never understood why people see the need to be cruel and prejudiced to other people. It is much easier to be nice to them - or distant if you don't like them. Of course, she is renowned for her Scottish Temper which can sometimes get the better of her, though she usually regrets loosing it afterwards - except for the times when someone truly deserves what she dishes out to them. The easiest way to get her to loose her temper is to threaten someone she cares about - that is something she will not abide by at all and the only time she will rush into a situation without thinking about it before hand.

Most of all though, Minerva is incredibly stubborn when it comes to a lot of things but she hates giving up whether it is an argument or a problem with her school work. The harder it is, the more determined she becomes at achieving whatever it is that she is undertaking.

History.

DETAILED HISTORY: Born on October 4 1925 to Isobel and Robert McGonagall, she was the oldest of the two children born to them. Isobel and Robert's marriage was a rocky one, though her parents did love each other. Robert, a Muggle didn't know of the magical world until Isobel informed him when Minerva started to perform accidental magic. While it didn't go over well at first, Robert came to accept it somewhat.

For the most part, her childhood was a good one though as she grew up she helped her mother hide her siblings display of magic from their father, though while he accepted it, it went against all he believed in as their local Pastor, among other things. After all the Church taught that Magic was evil... Except this was his family and in the end it was just easier for them to pretend that all was normal.

Even as a young age, Minerva had the tendencies to protect and look after her siblings and keep their magical ability a secret. She loved her family and seeing them happy, though even from a young age she exasperated them with all the non-ladylike things she enjoyed. It wasn't her fault that she enjoyed playing sports and running around over housework? She did do the housework... She just didn't like it.

When she wasn't playing or helping out around the house, Minerva would often be found with her head in a book. From a young age she loved reading and would often have her head in one book or another.

Starting Hogwarts she was surprisingly sorted into Gryffindor where she found that while not as reckless as some of her house mates, she did fit into it. She made some good friends, did well at her classes and while she missed her family, it didn't take her long to settle into Hogwarts. From the get go, she was a stickler for doing everything by the rule book and while it didn't make her all that popular, she enjoyed her time at Hogwarts.

In her third year, not only did she pick up Arithmacy and Ancient Runes as her electives she was made Chaser on the Quidditch team. She loved flying and Quidditch was amazing as well as something she was quite good at.

The next year passed by quickly and quietly enough though at the beginning ofher fifth year she was made Prefect much to her delight, she is looking forward to this year and is determined to study hard to do as well as possible on her OWLs.

The Samples.
LYRICS, QUOTE, OR WHATEVER YOU WANT HERE.

FIRST PERSON SAMPLE It has come to our attention that there has been talk of the deaths that have been occurring. I myself have tracked down these comments and I have to say I am ashamed of some of you and how you are behaving. I won't name people at the moment but if that sort of behaviour continues there shall be serious consequences.

These are people's families that are being effected, it is no time to fight among yourselves. While there is no proof of who murdered the family members it doesn't mean you can dismiss anything at the moment. The Ministry is working its hardest to capture them and to stop the attacks.

The papers are just trying to cause a stir and make us believe that people are guilty before there is any proof. The Auror's are working around the clock to track down the people who did this. If you have any questions my and the other Head of Houses offices are open to all of you if ever needed.

Order
I think we need to hurry up with our efforts.

Professors
Miss Brocklehurst has requested that she no longer patrols with Miss Parkinson. Given the events in Miss Parkinson's journal I believe this might be for the best in case something happens.

Albus
I know you probably have this all figured out but Arthur has volunteered to have Miss Granger stay with them.

Minerva looked over the group of first years gathered in front of her. They grew smaller and smaller every year as the amount of muggleborns grew less and less and Purebloods were no longer having as many children as they had previously. Both resulted in the lower class sizes. At this rate, Minerva guessed that in a few years they would have one of the lowest class sizes since Hogwarts began. It was a rather depressing thought truth told.

“Welcome to Hogwarts,” Minerva said, addressing this group for the first time. “Here you will be sorted into one of the four houses- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. These will be your homes for the next seven years. Misdemeanours will loose you house points and good behaviour will gain house points. At the end of the year the House with the most points wins the House Cup,” she told them getting into her usual introductory speech. The group of first years were looking at her wide eyed and were trying to take in every word she said by the look of it. Hopefully they would be a good bunch of students. Finishing off her speech she said, “Wait here and make sure you are presentable. I will then take you to be sorted,” with that she turned on her heel and made her way to the Great Hall to see if they were ready to begin the sorting ceremony.
