ACTS | Claudia, at first glance seems to be born in the wrong century, she's the type that prefers to sit quietly in the background only speaking up if she's spoken to or has something that she has to say and will make a big difference to the conversation she is involved in. That isn't to say though that she isn't like other girls her age, she's just quieter than most which shows in the way she behaves. She's an incredibly nice girl who goes out of her way to make sure people are happy, offering a word of support here, a shoulder to cry on and so forth. Claudia just doesn't understand being cruel to people that she doesn't like and will go out of her way to be polite or avoid them which was the case with most Slytherin's while she was at school. Perhaps due to this, she isn't the most noticeable person or the person you remember being in the room with you but she finds that she doesn't mind that. Claudes is not surprisingly, quite shy and hates having attention on her, she's content with the few friends she has and has no need to go out of her way to party, go clubbing and make new friends. If it happens, great but she is happy with the ones she has at the moment. Even her teachers didn't notice her that much, that was besides from her manners. She had been raised to always say please and thank you and she found it came naturally as well as using honorifics such as ma'am and sir which caused some students to tease her when they did notice it but over time they came to accept it as a part of who she was. Claudia, hates changes especially ones that disrupt her life in one way or another and can suffer from server panic attacks if the change is too much for her. Her worst one was when the war officially started. During those two years she suffered from a lot, though after the war they have started to ease though they haven't completely left her. While she was in Azkaban due to her status as a Muggleborn she actually had found them a good way to keep herself going, to think that whatever happens she might eventually get out and it reminded her she was alive and that she had something to keep fighting for. She is a peaceful person and if she had been a couple of decades older, she could very well have joined the hippie movement - if she was that sort of person of course. She hates violence of any kind to the point where she faints when she sees blood, especially a lot of it. She just doesn't get why people have to be cruel to others and not accept everyone. |

STORY | Claudia was born on August 22 1981 to Lindsay and Daniel Jackson. For the most part, Claudia had a normal childhood though with both parents working full time she spent a lot of time with her grandparents who she came to adore. Her grandmother was the one who taught her to sew and knit, to make her own clothes which was something she became quite good at with a lot of work, mostly because she not only found it fun but she wanted her Grandma to be proud of her - though she said she would be no matter what. At school, she was always a quieter student and she didn't mind that. She made a few friends, did well at her schoolwork and was generally quite happy with her life. In fact there was nothing unusual about her as far as she could tell. It was therefore quite a surprise that about a month before her eleventh birthday, Professor McGonagall showed up at her house to explain that she was a Witch. She, of course thought it was an elaborate prank done by one of the children who didn't like her at school but she couldn't think who and she couldn't think of any adult that would get in on it either. Eventually after seeing magic for herself she came to accept that it was real though she was still incredibly disbelieving that she was a witch because as far as she knew she had never done anything odd. At Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff along with four other girls and despite her habit of being quiet and rather shy, she found she fitted in and made friends with them. She did well enough at her classes, though she wasn't the best though she greatly enjoyed Charms and Transfiguration. She had her fair share of troubles from Slytherin's and other people who didn't like her meek attitude or how polite she is but while it hurt her she tried to ignore them as much as possible. Truthfully, she usually would end up in the bathroom or dorm to cry, though as the years progressed these incidents and her reactions grew less and less. A part from the turn over of the Defense teachers, Claudia had no real clue as to what was happening at Hogwarts during her time there - besides the rumours of course. Like everyone, she heard them but to her they seemed so outrageous that she was disinclined to believe any of them. Her third year was definitely an interesting year as it was also the year of the Tri-Wizard tournament. After Potter had been called as champion she started to hear all the stories about him and what happened in the previous years as well as why he was famous, though she wasn't sure what she thought of all of it. She was devastated when Cedric died, while she didn't know him well she had liked him and he had gone out of his way to make sure that the younger years were settling in to the school alright. She wasn't sure what to believe about his death, while she didn't think Dumbledore would lie she didn't want to think about what it meant if Voldemort was back. While the fourth year was interesting, she was starting to wonder if they had been correct about Voldemort being back - if he was why wasn't he making a move? Those thoughts were quickly pushed from her mind with Umbridge as first a teacher then as the Headmistress. She didn't fully understand why things were happening but she got the gist in that the Ministry was adamant that he wasn't back and wanted to convince them that all was fine. She wasn't all that keen on her learning style but she went along, she didn't like the rumours that were going around Hogwarts about her detention styles. Her fifth year was one which she started to realise just exactly why they feared Voldemort's return and tried to deny it. It was horrible. Yes she could admit that it would have been better being prepared for the war but to admit that the world was going to be plunged into darkness again, to live in fear it wasn't something she wanted to experience. She prayed that it would be over quickly. Unfortunately it seemed not to be the case. By now she knew just how much of a role Dumbledore played in keeping the world safe, how much You-Know-Who feared him. When he died, she was scared, truly scared unlike she had been during the past year. Before the war hadn't touched Hogwarts or anyone that she knew but now... She realised just what his death meant. From there everything went downhill. For the first month things were tense but she tried to ignore that. Then Voldemort took over Hogwarts and the Ministry and she realised just how bad it was. She ran. She convinced her parents to go overseas which they thankfully did. From there she ran and kept running until she no longer caught. Halfway through September she was caught by Snatchers and sent to Azkaban on the crime of stealing magic. Azkaban, even without the Dementors was a place of nightmares. She quickly lost track of time in there, all she could do was retreat into her own mind, a place full of happy thoughts away from the darkness screams and cries of the other prisoners. Some she recognised some she didn't and that was the worst. That and not knowing how the war was progressing on the outside. She had no idea how long had passed until someone came and released her. She was in her cell and then the next thing she knew she was in a bed in St Mungo's telling her that they had won and Voldemort was gone for good. The road to recovery was a long and painful one for her. She continually slipped back into her own mind, to escape things thinking she was imagining everything being over. Eventually things started to slowly improve combined with her realising that the war was truly over and all the medications that the Healers had given her. A month after being released from Azkaban while still a patient of St Mungo's she was diagnosed with PTSD and Depression, which given all that she had gone through was not all that surprising. |
WAR | INVOLVEMENT WITH THE WAR: Claudia wasn't involved with the war as it didn't come to Hogwarts until what would have been her sixth year and that was the year she spent in Azkaban. THOUGHTS ABOUT THE WAR: She HATES it. She has come to terms that it is over but with everything that it left her with - mostly the emotional and mental scars she has a long way to go when it comes to fully healing and she isn't sure that she will. She's a lot more insecure about things and hates being alone now thanks to her time in Azkaban. REBUILDING EFFORTS: Well obviously she's supposedly just finished her 'sixth year' despite not being there so she isn't quite of age yet (if my maths is right) and therefore can't do much in ways when it comes to the magical side of things. I'd love to see some sort of support group to help her and others in a similar situation because surely there would be others too who aren't coping well with everything? Still she's going to try and move on and I would love to have some friends to help her with that. |
