From a young age, it was obvious that he was different to a lot of the other rabbits. Not only was he quite small and timid but from a young age he was blessed with the sixth sense which made the majority of his warren think he was crazy. One of these visions was of the field near Sandleford Warren where he and his family lived covered in blood, with grave danger coming their way. At first they tried to convince the Threarah, the chief rabbit of the warren but had no success. Hazel, who believed in his visions helped him manage to convince a small group of rabbits to leave the warren with them, in search of a new home. In the end a small group of about ten rabbits, left Sandleford to face the outside world and the dangers that it forced them to face. It wasn't an easy trip, from crows to elil that travelled roads and others of their Thousand enemies. Over the trip of the journey, Fiver experiences a number of visions that in the end save their lives - especially Hazel's after he was shot at the Nuthanger Farm and Bigwig's after he was caught in a snare at Cowslip's warren. The Thousand enemies weren't the only problem that they faced on this journey, but other rabbit warrens as well. After their encounter with General Woundwort and the release of his Doe's, Fiver's visions become worse until they all but consumed him. Despite that, Fiver managed to find a mate in Vilthuril, one of the Efrafan does they freed from General Woundwort's warren. With the help of the other rabbits and his visions, Fiver eventually leads them to Watership Down, the place where he saw they would build their new Warren. PERSONALITY Fiver is a timid rabbit who has always been on the smaller side, being the runt of the litter. Due to this, he was never taken serious, growing up in a warren that looked up to the larger, stronger rabbits. This means that Fiver was always an outcast, never one to have many friends besides his brother Hazel. This wasn't helped by the matter that he was given the gift of the sixth sense though not many people believed him besides Hazel. These visions were never that detailed, usually only receiving a sense of danger or vague details. Despite that, he has never been proven wrong with these visions. Despite not being liked by the majority of his birth warren, Fiver is quite loyal and would protect them despite their dislike of him. He has a strong sense of protection which is one of the reasons he and Hazel try to convince as many of the rabbits to leave the Warren with them. In time though other rabbits do come to trust him and believe in his visions after they save their lives quite a number of times. With his adventure from his old warren to his new one, he was forced to grow up a lot but he is still very much a young rabbit/man with little real world experience often living in his fantasy world. He is aware of the dangers out there but he doesn't think that they will impact him until it is actually happening. Perhaps due to the visions, Fiver is quite intelligent rabbits as well as being incredibly insightful to things happening around him. He is quick to grasp onto ideas and can often understand what Blackberry, the intelligent one, is speaking about. He can therefore make it simpler for the other rabbits to understand as well.
